Pompey boss Harry Redknapp is expected to make sweeping changes for tonight's Carling Cup game against Championship flyers Burnley. With big name players like Matty Taylor and Pedro Mendes not making the starting line up recently this is seen as their chance to stake a place in the first team again.
For Pompey fans the big talking point of the squad is the likely inclusion of fans favourite Linvoy Primus, I doubt anyone is writing off his chances of forcing his was back in the team even with the Pompey back 4 looking solid at the moment.
Redknapp told The News: "These boys are good enough to play. It's not as if they are poor players. So they are going to get their chance to show me what they can do.
"Pedro Mendes wasn't even on the bench against Blackburn and he's a terrific player.
"We had two forwards, Matt Taylor and Noe Pamarot on the bench, so we will go to Burnley and give players like that a go.
"I have brought all the squad north. Everyone who is fit at the club is here."
