Will OJ cut the mustard?
Yesterday Pompey signed Gambian forward Omar 'OJ' Koroma from Banjul Hawks on a two year deal, after impressing Harry Redknapp in several pre-season friendlies.
With Redknapp feeling the player isn't upto Premier League standard yet it was expected OJ would be sent out on loan and today has signed for Championship side Norwich for a season to gain first team experience and to adjust to the English game.
Redknapp said: "I've been impressed with him and I'm pleased that we've got him here. I like him very much.
"He's not ready for the Premier League yet but he's got the potential to become a very good player.
"Someone rung me and recommended him. We got him down here and we liked what we saw straight away.
"There's a big gulf at the club between senior players and young kids. We've got nothing in between really but I think he can bridge that gap.
"He's played out wide and through the middle for us in pre-season but he's a forward player really."
Talking to BBC Radio Norfolk Norwich manager Glenn Roeder said "Koroma looks exciting and full of enthusiasm, but I don't want to put too much pressure on him."
