Pompey training!

Hi Guys

I'm new to this site - so since pompey are looking to get a fantastic new training ground (which looks great)

My question is, where do they train now? and whats the problem with their current training facilities?

Thanks, Phil
They currently train at Eastleigh, a site used by Southampton FC before they moved to their own custom built facilities.

The problem with the training ground (apart from it being in an SO post code), is that isnt really upto Premiership standards, its pitches have been a cause of many an injury to Pompey players, the main problem though is it isnt owned by the club (Its owned by Southampton University)

Its also thought that the state of the training facilities have been a factor on Pompey missing out on a few transfers in the past, so an improvement will help us train better and attract better quality players.

Thanks for that Jen -

the reason I was asking was I used to live in liverpool near melwood and took my boy down to see the players -

Could u tell me a road or postcode for portsmouth so I can take him there - He really likes Kanu - which is a real plus

Thanks again, Phil
I've never been there but its meant to be at the Wellington training Ground, Stoneham Lane Eastleigh.

I remember an announcement last year that it was being closed to visitors, but I've heard people still go down there.

hi

so wen is pompeys new training ground going to be ready. i have'nt heard any news on it ?

I dont think its even been started yet, they already have the land in Titchfield but I think they may be waiting on legal issues before starting construction.
