 I have been trying to hunt a breakdown of the Pompey players salaries but I have struck a brick wall, can anyone help me out in at all please?

I doubt you will find one either, as player salaries are kept reasonably private for most players, yes there are rumours like Sol Campbell is on around 50-60k a week but as for definate figures they will be hard to find.

I'm not sure if the club, like most other businesses publish an "Annual report" but it could be a place to start and may have a baseline figure for all the salaries, but I doubt anywhere has an accurate list of the players actual salaries.

Do HMRC publish lists of how much tax people pay ?

I have to agree, its not the sort of info that is out there in the wild, the odds are you don't know your collegues wages (and you probably don't want to) so why should players have thier saleries drapped in the press

Another possible place to look is the Football Manager type games, they have a fairly good idea on the rough wages a player is on.  With the new editions of these types of games due out now ish may be the best bet.
