    Jimmy Greaves

I was reading the current bun yesterday lunchtime and there was a piece by Jimmy Greaves saying that he longer loves footbal becuase the game has gone soft and that rugby is the far better game, from a whole load of perspectives

I certainly think we could learn from the sport certainly in reagrds to bad language to the ref/dissent - yellow card time, diving  - yellow card. At free kicks if thier is backback move the free kick 10 meteres closer to goal

     What do you reckon?

Actually did reply, but I think IE crashed before it saved.

Have to say I know where he's coming from, but I dont agree, the more "Gentlemanly" parts of Rugby such as only the captain being able to talk to the ref, moving kicks back 10 yards for descent are all good and really should be applied to football, but I still think Rugby to watch is not as interesting as football.

10 yards for dissent is a great idea it would make players think twice that for sure, how they  would handle repeated dissent though, Brighton & Hove Albion would wind up on thier own goal line all the time Stick out tongue

I think football ref's can already do this, but they dont.  As for repeated dissent thats when the cards come out, but following your logic the Seagulls will be on their own goal line with 1 player on the pitch, the one who learned to keep their gob shut.
