Hi,first i wana say congratulations to all at pompey fc for winning the FA CUP and a huge thank you to portsmouth city council for putting on a great free spectacle on southsea common for all those who couldnt get a ticket for wembley,The place was buzzing on the common with up to 70,000 fans it really was brilliant!! I see harry was in cherque farm lee on the solent looking at land for the new training ground,he said it was the best area hes seen which is good news for me as its wher i live!! does anybody have any more news on this?

Glad to hear the common was rocking yesterday, I was at Wembley and that was amzazing.

Yup the training ground will form part of the Alver Valley Country Park, which will be built on the land opposite the Cherque Farm estate, its up the Shoot Lane end, depending where you are on the estate, if you coming the traffic lights, you come upto the roundabout on the and the left turn goes nowhere, that will be the entrance to the training complex.

The last I heard its going through Gosport Council for planning permission at the moment if thats granted (and unlike Fareham Council, Gosport want it to be granted so it is likely to happen) building should start late summer.

Hello jennip thanks for your reply.I just went on pfctv "its got a end of season deal if you are interested" 99p 1st month! it has good  footage from the FA CUP FINAL WIN and interviews from peter storrie and harry and also gosport council on the training ground.Im sure it will go ahead and they want it finished by end of next season! Its going to be right next to my house and ive always been interested in being a groundsman this could be my chance for a change in career!34 isnt to old is it! On the off chance do you know anybody on that side of things?

Certainly will be weird driving past the training ground on my way to work every day when its open.
