How do one get to the top page of a search site like newsnow.co.uk ? What about google 90% of the people look up google when they want to search some thing . What is the page rank with google ?  

NewsNow.co.uk isnt a search site, its a pulls together stories from variuous websites (Some RSS based some now), you get to be "Top" of NewsNow if you have the most recient story.   You get to be "Top story" in the last 24 hours if your story is clicked most in a 24 hour period.

As NewsNow has hundreds, perhaps thousands of categories its not that hard to get top for a bit.  Saying that NewsNow link to you via Javascript so it doesnt count as a backlink.
