    Coming from out of town

If you are coming from out of town to watch Pompey are you better of driving in or getting the coach or train? I have no idea of the parking in the area or how much it costs, my boy wants me to take him and his grandpa trialed as a young lad!

Your better off coming by train, get off at Fratton Station and you only have a 5 minute walk to Fratton Park, and you can get your programme and hotdog on the way!

Seconded what Nikki said, unless your a local and have a fair knowledge of the area train is the way to go.  While there is quite a bit of on street parking in the roads a little way from the ground (All the near by ones have no parking at all for non-residents) its really not worth it.

Thanks for info,  the train it is then, but I'll think I'll skip the hot dog thanks Nikki. I guess if you do park near the ground you have to pay some kids a fiver to 'mind' you car Hmm

I've parked in the streets around the ground such as Haslemere Road, and never had any problems, there usually are a few spots an hour or so before the game,

Yes you can but best to get their early, if you dont get one in that area your going to start getting further afield and its not worth it with the train station so near.

As for paying kids to mind the car, nah this isnt Liverpool :-)  Its quite safe around there, well unless you have a Southampton car sticker of course.
